Linux and the Acer Extensa 2355XC Latop. OfficeWorks sell them for AUD997.00 retail. Are they any good on Linux? I did a brief test with BeatrIX. 2005F1 and it all looks good so far. I didnt get to test the PCMCIA or modem or 3D, but since the chipset is a standard Intel one, youre pretty safe on the latter. Intel 82852 855GM, external VGA connector at rear. 15 1024x768 LCD; steeper contrast than my own cheap laptop. But still nothing fancy. Baseline hard drive is 40GB. No RS-232 at all!
